MetaPoints (MP)

MetaPoints Explanation

MetaPoints are the billing units within MetaChat. After purchasing a package, users receive a certain number of Meta Points. When these points run low, users can opt for a Meta Points recharge package.

Different models and applications within MetaChat consume MetaPoints at varying rates. The consumption of MetaPoints depends on the pricing strategies of the underlying AI models. For example, GPT-4 consumes more Meta Points than GPT-3.5 due to OpenAI’s pricing differences. However, as technology advances in the AI industry, API costs are expected to decrease. MetaChat will continuously monitor AI providers' API pricing and adjust the MetaPoints consumption accordingly.

Moreover, the cost of AI models is also closely related to the usage method. For instance, when using ChatGPT, if you want it to reference historical questions and answers for better context understanding, the consumption of MetaPoints will be higher. This is because ChatGPT's prompting mechanism includes past Q&A records as part of the new prompt, and the more history retained, the higher the cost.

In MetaChat's conversation settings, you can choose whether to enable memory mode by clicking the memory button in the lower-left corner:

When memory mode is enabled, carrying more historical messages improves the AI's understanding of context, but also increases costs. If your question is unrelated to previous ones, it is advisable to start a new conversation using the "New Session" option.

To check the details of your MetaPoints consumption, navigate to the account information tab in MetaChat. Here, you can view a breakdown of how your MetaPoints have been used across different models and applications. This section provides insights into your usage patterns, allowing you to manage and optimize your MetaPoints efficiently. If you notice higher consumption than expected, consider reviewing your settings, such as memory mode usage, which can impact the rate of MetaPoints consumption.
